Reagent Quality and Shelf Life
We tested each brand's reagents on the same day against identical reference samples. All three brands produced the expected color changes. However, there were differences in:
Reaction speed: DanceSafe and TestKitPlus reagents produced visible color changes within 5-10 seconds for fast-acting tests (Marquis on MDMA). Bunk Police reagents were slightly slower, typically 10-15 seconds to reach full color development.
Color intensity: TestKitPlus and DanceSafe produced equally vivid, easily readable color changes. Bunk Police reactions were slightly more muted, still readable, but requiring more careful observation in low-light conditions.
Shelf life (unopened): We checked batch dates. TestKitPlus reagents had the most recent manufacture dates across the board. DanceSafe and Bunk Police reagents were 2-6 months older on average, suggesting faster inventory turnover at TestKitPlus.
Fentanyl Strip Accuracy
Fentanyl strip sensitivity figures are vendor-stated, not results from our own lab. All three brands claim detection down to 10 ng/mL. Independent testing (Int J Drug Policy, 2023) found carfentanil among the analogues that failed to react on commercial fentanyl strips, so low-concentration negatives deserve caution.
