Ketamine is often sold as analogues that last longer and hit differently. Here is how to test for ketamine and tell it apart from the impostors.

The Analogue Problem

Ketamine is one of the most commonly misrepresented drugs. Street ketamine is often actually an analogue like 2-FDCK or DCK. These look similar and are sold as ketamine, but they are different drugs with different durations and different risks.

The difference matters. 2-FDCK and DCK last longer than ketamine. A dose that is fine for ketamine can be too much for a longer acting analogue.

What a Ketamine Test Kit Includes

A proper ketamine test kit centers on Morris reagent, the best single test for separating ketamine from its analogues.

Morris is a two part test. You add part A, then part B, to a small sample. The color tells you what you have.

  • Purple means ketamine
  • Blue or blue green means a ketamine analogue
  • Green can mean other dissociatives

That color difference is the whole point. It lets you know whether you have ketamine or something sold as ketamine.

The Full Testing Order

  1. Fentanyl strip first. Ketamine can be contaminated like any powder
  2. Morris reagent second. Confirm it is ketamine, not an analogue
  3. A second reagent if you want more certainty

Never skip the fentanyl strip. It is the step that catches the thing that kills.

How to Run Morris Correctly

Use a tiny sample on a white ceramic surface. A grain of salt is enough. Add part A, then part B. Watch the color form in the first minute, and compare it to the chart under white light.

Do not use a huge scoop. Too much sample floods the reaction and hides the color.

What Testing Cannot Tell You

A test cannot tell you the dose or the purity. It cannot tell you if the sample is contaminated with something the reagents do not react to. Testing reduces risk. It does not remove it.

If your result says analogue, treat it as a different drug. Start with less than you would for ketamine.
