Start With Two Things

If you are new to testing your substances, you do not need a nine reagent kit on day one. You need two things. A Marquis reagent and a fentanyl strip.

Marquis is the most versatile single reagent. It reacts with MDMA, amphetamine, meth, opiates, and more. It is the best first test for most people.

A fentanyl strip catches the thing that kills. Reagents do not detect fentanyl. You need a strip for that.

Those two together answer the two questions that matter most. What is this, and is it poisoned.

Why Marquis First

Marquis reacts with the widest range of common substances. One drop tells you whether you are looking at an MDMA type compound, an amphetamine, or an opiate, based on the color.

It is not perfect. It cannot confirm MDMA on its own. But as a first test, it rules out the most dangerous mislabels fast.

Why the Fentanyl Strip Is Not Optional

Fentanyl contamination is now found in cocaine, meth, and pressed pills, not just opioids. A reagent test will not warn you about it. The strip will.

A ten pack of fentanyl strips costs a few dollars. That is the cheapest safety purchase you will ever make.

How to Build Out From There

Once you have Marquis and a strip, add reagents for the substances you actually use.

• Use MDMA or ecstasy? Add Simon's and Froehde to confirm it
• Use LSD or mushrooms? Add Ehrlich, then Hofmann
• Use ketamine? Add Morris
• Use cocaine? Add a purity test after your fentanyl strip

You do not need everything at once. Buy for what you use, not for a hypothetical.

The One Rule

Never trust a single reagent. One color is a hint. Two or three agreeing colors are a result. And always run the fentanyl strip first, every time.
